The thought of F.A.V.A. Inc came into existence after a personal tragedy struck home. On January 24, 2009, Nova Henry, 24, and Ava Henry Curry, 10 months, were fatally shot in a domestic dispute in their home. Her 3 year old son Noah was left physically unharmed but wounded with the challenges that he would face living without the presence of his mother and sister. After having several emotions including anger, hurt, confusion, and blame her loved ones decided the best way to cope was to try and prevent anyone else from ever having to suffer from the kind of pain we all endured. On March 30, 2010, a few family members and friends gathered for their 1st meeting to help plan what would now become the outlet for our loss. We were officially incorporated on May 14, 2010 as F.A.V.A. Inc. We have vowed as an organization to do our part and help keep women, men, and children safe from the hands of their abusers. We are fighting to provide a safe haven for the abused so that they can live a lifestyle free of violence. We want people to know that these situations can be prevented and everyone is entitled to live in peace.
